      Is it actually quiet enough to sleep with? +
      Yes, and this is the question we get most. Ausent runs at under 30dB, quieter than a whisper. You will hear a very faint, soft trickle of oil. Some people describe it as white noise that actually helps them fall asleep. What you will not hear is any high-pitched squealing or motor hum. If you do hear an unusual sound, that is a sign of a fault and not normal operation. We will replace it immediately under warranty.
      Will it leak or leave water on my bedside table? +
      No, as long as you fill the oil to the fill line and place it on a flat surface. What most people mistake for leaking is condensation. A small amount of moisture can collect around the mist outlet, which is completely normal. A quick wipe every few days is all it takes. If you experience genuine leaking from the base, that is a fault and we will replace it.
      How hard is it to clean? +
      Easier than you would expect. After each use, empty any remaining oil and wipe the inside with a dry cloth. This takes about 60 seconds. Once a week, add a small amount of white vinegar diluted with water, run it for 5 minutes, then rinse.
      How many drops of oil should I use? +
      We recommend filling the reservoir to less than halfway for your first use. This allows you to get familiar with the fragrance and make sure it's the right fit for your space. Once you're happy with the scent, simply fill the rest of the reservoir and enjoy uninterrupted diffusion.
      How long does it run for? +
      Up to 8 hours on intermittent mode, which is enough to last a full night without refilling. On continuous mode it runs for around 4 to 5 hours. It automatically shuts off when the oil runs out, so there is nothing to wake up and deal with.
      Is it safe if I have asthma or fragrance sensitivity? +
      For fragrance sensitivity, the key is control, and that is exactly what Ausent gives you. Start with 1 to 2 drops of a mild oil like lavender, run it for 15 to 20 minutes with a window slightly open, and see how you feel. If you have asthma, we recommend checking with your doctor before using any scented products at home, as essential oils can be a trigger for some people. Always run it in a ventilated room.
      Is it safe around pets? +
      With care, yes. Some oils including tea tree, eucalyptus, and citrus can be harmful to cats and dogs at high concentrations. Use pet-safer oils like lavender or frankincense, keep the room ventilated so pets can leave if they want to, and run shorter sessions rather than overnight. If your pet seems uncomfortable, turn it off. We do not recommend using it in sealed rooms with birds, as they are particularly sensitive to airborne substances.
      What if it stops working or breaks? +
      We cover manufacturing faults with a 12-month warranty. If your unit stops producing mist, makes an unusual sound, or has any defect within that period, contact us and we will replace it with no lengthy back and forth. Your purchase is also protected under Australian Consumer Law, which gives you rights beyond any warranty document. We are an Australian-owned brand and we stand behind what we sell.
      What oils work best with it? +
      Ausent is compatible with any standard essential oil, so no special formulas are needed. For evening wind-down, lavender, cedarwood, and sandalwood are the most popular. For a morning reset, try eucalyptus or peppermint. For WFH focus, rosemary or lemon work well. Avoid thick resin-based oils like undiluted benzoin or myrrh as they can clog the ultrasonic plate over time. Pure essential oils from any reputable brand work perfectly.
      How is this different from a cheap Amazon diffuser? +
      Three things: noise, build quality, and support. Budget diffusers are behind almost every horror story you have read. High-pitched squealing at 2am, water on the floor, units that stop working after 6 weeks.
